MAHAK Radiotherapy Unit recently inaugurated a new accelerator machine called ONCOR in the presence of Hassan Jarahizadeh and his wife, Giti Jarahi, whose invaluable contributions helped  equip this unit, as well as board of trustees, board of directors, the founder, managing director of MAHAK and also a group of physicians and specialists.

This machine is capable of executing the IMRT technique. This technique delivers more advanced therapy along with more protection for healthy tissues of the patient’s body resulting in higher recovery rate for children suffering from cancer. This machine is also equipped with an Electronic Portal Imaging Device (EPID) which before every session controls and ensures the accuracy of targeting the particular area of treatment.

Along with chemotherapy and surgery, radiotherapy is one of the conventional methods in treating cancer. The goal of radiotherapy is to destroy the majority of cancerous cells with the least possible damage to healthy tissues.

MAHAK is committed to provide children suffering from cancer with the most effective advanced facilities and equipment as well as the most up-to-date therapeutic methods; MAHAK is grateful to all benevolent members and philanthropists who steadfastly help MAHAK in the pursuit of this mission.

MAHAK’s ever expanding family hopes to improve the quality of therapeutic and general medical services in support of children suffering from cancer.
