There is an old Iranian ceremony in which people in Iran and some of the neighboring countries celebrate the winter solstice as the longest and darkest night of the year. This occasion is called Yalda Night or Chelle Night in Farsi.
At this night, we gather with our family members to pass the night with happiness and famous folklore stories recited by our elders through generations. There is a belief which says all the darkness passes from Yalda Night to take us to where hope rises (like the sun) to enlighten and warm our hearts.
We wish the safest and the happiest moments for our ever-expanding family with their loved ones at Yalda Night.
